Dear butter.girl, I would love to try this as I too find almond meal pretty expensive to replenish my stock constantly not to mention I ‘d love to just try a new kind of healthy flour. I have tons of raw sunflower seeds in my pantry and was going to make my next loaf of amazing bread. Did you just replace the 3 cups of almond flour with 3 cups of sunflower seed flour? All the rest of the ingredients remained the same?

Like you say on your show, I am a foodie and hate it when recipes on websites turn out tasting bleh. This bread has a great texture. After making it a few times plain now, I added some sesame seeds to the batter and that turned out great too. Like many variables in diet, health, and disease, it behooves us to look beyond the bumper sticker explanation. While there have not been large studies that show the relationship between the ketogenic diet and cancer, we will be publishing a case study about that topic. The author failed to comment that pediatric patients with epilepsy are on the diet for usually about 2 years with no harmful effects. Before the false studies about heart disease and fat, the low carb diet was a respected way to lose weight. Studies into our metabolism show we can use both fat and carbohydrate as fuel. So stepping away from our high carb diet- I am sorry to say that we eat more carbs since the 70s with most of it processed and we now use high fructose corn syrup to sweeten products and we have a wide spread childhood obesity problem. If cholesterol is a concern try plant sterols and stenals to block cholesterol from the receptors in the body. So much more can be said about a keto diet than this article states
Oh Maria! Your bread recipe is fabulous! I have been playing around with it a little because the psyllium was a little too much for my gut! Went to 8 TBS of psyllium and added 2 TBS of Jay Robb Protein Isolate powder and a little sweetener (trying to make a yeasty flavor) I also turned it into buns which are easier for my household. I must say they turned out great! I even added caraway seeds to one batch for a rye flavor! I cannot thank you enough for making it so much easier to eat right when you have BREAD, ROLLS and DESSERTS that are fabulous!

Since then, it’s safe to say I dove down the rabbit hole. The more I learned, the more I grew tired of reading so much misinformation on the topic. Paleo baking is gluten free and grain free. Generally, paleo bread recipes have quite a few more ingredient options than low carb baking. Ingredients like tapioca flour and arrowroot flour are common in paleo baked goods, and help improve the texture greatly. The only thing is, these ingredients are relatively high in carbs and are typically avoided (or at least reduced) in low carb baking. This is why paleo baking can sometimes be a bit easier than low carb and/or keto baking.
